50 love letters.

Kids of all ages enter the system every day in Chicago... from those who are just learning to read, to teenagers getting ready to age out. Been hatching a plan to lavish these foster kids and homeless teens with 50 love letters from us. Hear me out...

Fill a Heart 4 Kids will print copies of your uplifting letter, illustration, happy doodle, words of affirmation (so long as it is 100% positive and makes no mention of the challenges they face), and include them in the backpacks they fill with essentials and give to kids as they enter foster care, or continue to survive on the streets.

It does not cost you a thing, it is completely anonymous and a one-time deal.

Here is the message we want to send: You are beautiful! You are wonderful! You are valued! Happy Valentine's Day!

It is literally as simple as that! Literally, just write those words on a piece of paper and decorate it with hearts and rainbows. That's it.

Write the words YOU ARE AWESOME on a piece of paper and put a bunch of radical stickers on it. Draw a comic strip of a meditating dolphin who tells the child how wonderful they are... aNyThInG to bring a smile to these kids' faces, and let them know they are valued. Again, all positive stuff... no mention of any challenges.

Write to a teen or an eight-year-old or anything in between... find your heart's wheel house and let it rip.

I wrote the letter at the top of this post, and it mentions being nervous and challenges and the like... NOT what they are looking for. And that's ok!! The people of Fill a Heart are so gracious and willing to teach me the ways as I do this first letter drive... there is a special place in the universe for people who are called to serve as they do. I don't always get it right. I want to share that with you! The two letters above though... those are right on point.

Once you got it down on paper, take a picture of it on your phone, and send it to me in an email. I will email it to Fill a Heart 4 Kids, and they will distribute the vibes they feel will touch the hearts of the kids they know so well.

If you don't know where to start, see these examples of letters we sent. I have sent just simple handwritten notes too.

These videos goes into more detail, but pleeeez ask me anything! If I don't have the answer, I will find it for you.

For instance, I wrote the letter at the top of this post, and it mentions being nervous and challenges and the like... not what they are looking for. And that's ok!! I will be shamelessly contacting all of my friends and acquaintances over the next couple weeks to see if I can light a fire under your butts... just fyi.

You can connect with Fill a Heart 4 Kids on Instagram and Facebook too! But they are way more active on FB. Probably the best place to stay updated.

Thank you so so so so so so so much for spending time with me, and I can't wait to collab on this one.

If you can donate time, money, or backpacks, there are so many ways to help!! Click here to find out more.
